Chelsea teenager Mueka has been named the Premier League 2 Player of the Season after an outstanding campaign with the Blues’ development side. The 18-year-old striker captained his team to the PL2 title, leading Chelsea to an impressive 14 wins in 20 league matches to finish top of the table.
Mueka was the division’s top scorer with 18 goals in just 19 appearances. The Birmingham-born forward joined Chelsea from Brighton at the end of his Under-14 season and hit the ground running in 2025-26, scoring four goals in his first three games—including a hat-trick in a 3-1 win over defending Premier League champions Manchester City. His early form earned him the PL2 Player of the Month award for August.
His rapid progress continued: last season he made his senior debuts in the Premier League, Europa Conference League, and EFL Cup. This February, he featured in the FA Cup fourth round against Hull City, helping Chelsea to a 4-0 victory.
Mueka was selected from an eight-man shortlist by the Premier League’s football development panel. He becomes the latest name on the PL2 Player of the Season honor roll, which includes past winners such as Oliver McBurnie (Swansea), Reiss Nelson (Arsenal), Aaron Connolly (Brighton), Curtis Jones (Liverpool), Liam Delap and James McAtee (both Manchester City), Carlos Forbs (Manchester City), Lankshear (Tottenham), and Simpson-Pusey (Manchester City). Mueka joins that list for the 2025-26 season.
