The Canadiens took a 2-1 lead late in the first period when Cole Caufield scored on the power play at 19:47, assisted by Juraj Slafkovsky and Lane Hutson.
Buffalo tied the game early in the second period at 27:00 when Tage Thompson scored on the power play, assisted by Rasmus Dahlin. The go-ahead goal came at 44:41 of the third period, as Zach Benson netted the winner on another power play, with assists from Cozens and Thompson.
With this result, the series is now tied 2-2.
For the Canadiens, goals came from Alex Newhook and Cole Caufield. Russian forward Ivan Demidov registered an assist, continuing his strong playoff performance. For Buffalo, Mattias Samuelsson, Tage Thompson, and Zach Benson were the goal scorers.
The next game between the two teams is scheduled for May 15. In the previous round, Buffalo eliminated the Boston Bruins, while Montreal defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning.
