On May 10, the 2026 FIA TCR World Tour season opener at Italy’s Misano World Circuit concluded with a breakthrough victory for the debutant Geely China Star team. In the second race, Chinese driver Ma Qinghua claimed the title behind the wheel of the all-new Geely Xingrui TCR, marking the car’s first win and another world championship triumph for Chinese motorsport and Chinese drivers.
The Geely China Star team is a joint venture between Geely Auto Group and Sweden’s Cyan Racing. Entering the 2026 season, the team fields the Xingrui TCR, built on the CMA platform, in the FIA TCR World Tour, signaling the start of a Chinese brand’s journey in the global touring car stage.
