“Next up is Coco Gauff. What do you have prepared for her?”
“Well, let’s see what Conchita (Martinez, her coach) will tell me. Of course, I’ve played her many times, including last year in Madrid and Rome. Now we meet again in the quarterfinals, just like last year, so the match will definitely be tough. She’s a fighter, a great player, so we’ll see what Conchita comes up with. And of course, I feel like I’m reaching a good level on clay right now. I think the match will be very interesting,” Andreeva said in an interview with a correspondent.
The 19-year-old has been building momentum on clay this season, and her previous encounters with Gauff—including a competitive clash in Rome last year—add an extra layer of intrigue. Both players are known for their tenacity and athleticism, setting the stage for a compelling battle in the Italian capital. Andreeva’s recent form suggests she is ready to challenge the former US Open champion, while Gauff’s experience on the big stage could be a key factor. Tennis fans can expect a high-quality contest as these two rising stars renew their rivalry.
