Renowned coach Valery Nepomniachtchi has shared his thoughts on Sochi’s early relegation from the Russian Premier League (RPL).
“I feel upset and frustrated for every club that leaves the RPL. The issue is not just with the players and coaches, but with the organizational aspects surrounding the team. Until the rooster pecks you in the rear, the leaders are asleep and doing things they shouldn’t be. The Sochi example shows that the team always had potential, but they only woke up at the very end,” Nepomniachtchi said in an interview.
Sochi currently sits in 16th place in the RPL standings with 21 points.
