The Saitama Seibu Lions have officially announced a two-part collaboration event with Taiwan’s Uni-President Lions, spanning both Taiwanese and Japanese venues in June 2026. The event will take place at the Tainan Asia-Pacific Baseball Stadium from June 19 to 21 and at Belluna Dome from June 26 to 28.
The collaboration will feature the Uni-President Lions’ official dance performance team, Uni-girls, alongside their mascots LION and YINGYING, as well as the Saitama Seibu Lions’ mascot Leo and dance team bluelegends. These groups will visit each other’s stadiums to perform collaborative dances and engage in cultural exchange.
In Taiwan, the event marks the first collaboration at the new home stadium of the Uni-President Lions, which will become their base from the 2026 season. Special guests include Seibu Lions legends Kaku Taiyuan, Kōdo Yasuaki, Watanabe Hisanobu, and Shiozaki Tetsuya, who will participate in talk shows and ceremonial first pitches to energize the games.
The tie-up between these “W Lions” dates back years—they faced off in the 2008 Asia Series final, and in 2016, Seibu’s manager Nishiguchi Fumiya (then in the front office) served as a temporary coach for Uni-President Lions. Past spring training exchanges have also taken place in Kōchi Prefecture’s Haruno Town. This 2026 event marks the 11th year of collaboration between the two teams.
